Wales Maths Week comes round again!
Wales Maths Week 2008 takes place from October 6 to 10 and it comes with a big challenge – a hula hoop challenge. The theme of the week is “Round and Round”, and pupils of all ages and abilities will be able to join in the activities.
Hula hooping
Children have been playing with hula hoops for thousands of years – but now they can be studying maths while they play! Hula hoops can be twirled around the waist, arms, or neck… click here for instructions, and activities for pupils of all ages.
Lectures
Leading mathematicians will give a series of lectures as part of Wales Maths Week. These are aimed particularly at post-16 pupils, and feature inspirational speakers who aim to entertain their audience.
