Techniquest’s learning and fun Toddler days return

September 26, 2017

Techniquest’s season of Toddler Days is returning this October after a short summer break.

Based in Cardiff Bay, the science discovery centre opens its doors to parents and toddlers during term time to prioritise instructive play. The sessions will take place one day a month from October 2017 through to July 2018.

The events allow preschool children to engage with stimulating and entertaining play, whilst encouraging both parents and children to make the most of the educational environment.

As well as the colourful surroundings the centre also offers craft facilities, a mini disco and story time. All activities are based around learning and facilitate children of a young age to gain an understanding of science.

This season’s themes will cover a variety of topics, including: Little Spooks (6 October), Toybox Trouble (10 November) and Snowflakes and Sparkles (1 December) in 2017. Then in 2018: Fairytale Fancy (12 January), Up, Up and Away (2 February), Springtime Sunshine (2 March), Fun on the Farm (4 May), Marvellous Minibeasts (8 June) and then finishing for the summer with At the Seaside (6 July).

Lesley Kirkpatrick, CEO at Techniquest, said: “It’s never too early to start learning, and the Techniquest Toddler Days are a wonderful way to introduce children to science in a fun way.

“We regularly have infants in the centre, but sometimes it can be a bit scary for them if there are older children running around. Having some time dedicated to little ones gives them a bit more confidence to explore freely, and that’s what’s so important about our Toddler Days.

“Each of the sessions have a completely different theme, and with so many to choose from we’re confident that there is something for everyone.”

In addition to the Toddler Days, Techniquest will also be introducing Nursery Days, aimed specifically at Nursery groups. The themes will include Snowflakes and Sparkles (30 November) and At the Seaside (Thursday 5 July). These days offer the same programme as the Toddler Days the next day, and must be pre-booked.
