Techniquest’s workshop and design teams recently worked closely with Jodrell Bank Observatory to design, manufacture and install a new exhibition for the Observatory that focussed on the life cycle of stars and the search for alien life.

We worked closely with Jodrell Bank’s visitor centre team to create a range of exhibits and scenography that included original interactive concepts as well as variations of existing exhibits to help best portray the centre’s themes of astronomy and cosmology.

The exhibits give visitors a hands-on experience in which they investigate a range of fundamental principles including plasma discharges, spectroscope emissions, using sound to create complex patterns in liquids, gravitational attraction and the methods used to hunt exoplanets orbiting distant stars.

The entire design, content development, manufacture and installation process was managed and completed to a very tight schedule of just eight weeks while the exhibition has been extremely well received since the installation.
