We’re an all-weather family-friendly visitor attraction set right in the heart of Cardiff Bay, so you can build a brilliant day out based around a visit to Techniquest.
What you can see
This beautiful wetlands area is right on our doorstep. Spot a heron or a kingfisher stalking its dinner; or a cormorant sunning itself on a warm summer day. A peaceful pocket of wildlife just a heartbeat away from the bustle of the city centre, and a lovely spot for a picnic too.
Where you can eat
We’ve a great coffee shop on site, Coffee Mania — but if you want to explore further afield, there are lots of dining outlets set on the waterfront or just beyond.
From mainstream restaurants like Wagamama, PizzaExpress, Nando’s and Bill’s to quirkier spaces like Coffi Co or Lo Lounge, there’s a wide variety of outlets that cater for just about every taste in neighbouring Mermaid Quay and beyond. And an ice cream at Cadwaladers is a must: they have gluten-free cones and dairy-free ices too as well as ice cream for dogs.

Catch a film in the ODEON at the Red Dragon Centre; see a show or concert at the Norwegian Church or Wales Millennium Centre; check out the amazing art at Craft in the Bay or just soak up the atmosphere on the boardwalk and watch the world go by.
If being out on the water is more appealing, head onto a boat trip around the Bay or travel right into the heart of Cardiff city centre via the water taxi — the choice is yours.
