Get ready for a truly scrumptious time at Techniquest!

Join us for an afternoon focused on all things gastronomical as we welcome experts from FareShare Cymru, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Trussell Trust to help us explore the fields of food and drink.

You’ll have the chance to discover the science behind the flavours that tantalise our tastebuds, and the chemistry that transforms ingredients into culinary masterpieces.

Whether you want to delve deeper into science for your own interest, or to impress the grandchildren next time you bring them on a trip to us, you’ll have plenty time to try out all of our interactive exhibits for yourself on this afternoon dedicated to grown-ups of a more mature vintage.

FareShare Cymru will be talking about their mission to redistribute surplus food to charities, that then turn it into meals for vulnerable people.

You can step into our Science Theatre, where you’ll witness a marvellous mix of food and drink-themed live demonstrations in “Science en Flambé” — including an exploding watermelon!

You can even get hands-on in our KLA Lab with workshops delivered by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

It won’t break the bank: for just £5, as well as having up to three hours to explore the exhibition floors and take part in those additional activities, your ticket also includes a hot drink in Coffee Mania, right next door — so make sure you join us for an experience you can ‘dine out on’ for weeks to come.
