Projects Monitoring Officer

Contract: Part time
Salary: £18–22k pa (pro rata)
Hours: 21 hours per week

Techniquest is a leading science discovery centre with a world-wide reputation for excellence and innovation. Our vision is to transform Techniquest into an exciting contemporary hub for audiences to engage with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, maths). Join us as we embark on our Science Capital project which encompasses an extension of Techniquest’s building in the heart of Cardiff Bay to house immersive and innovative new content and a repositioning exercise to extend and diversify our audiences.

We are seeking a Projects Monitoring Officer to join our Finance team to monitor and feed back on our Science Capital Key Performance Indicators including progress reports. This role will also involve analysis of financial information including budgets and audience figures together with phasing to support the forward planning of activities.

The ideal candidate will be highly numerate, have excellent excel spreadsheet knowledge and have experience of working with statistics and finances including the ability to shape analysis to provide reports, showing initiative in solving problems and improving effectiveness.

  •   What is Techniquest?

    Techniquest is an educational charity, with a science centre in Cardiff Bay. Our mission is to embed science in Welsh culture through interactive engagement. We provide a range of services to schools and teachers to complement formal education provision in Wales and work extensively with public audiences.

  •   Where can I park?

    We are pleased to be able to offer all of our visitors discounted parking with Q-Park, our preferred parking partner.

    The Q-Park operates the Cardiff Bay car park in Pierhead Street which is around 8 minutes walk from Techniquest.

    We have agreed a special discount rate for our customers of 15% off all pre-bookings.

    There are also nearby pay-and-display car parks on Stuart Street and Havannah Street. Please do not park on Havannah Street itself.

  •   Who is it for?

    Techniquest is suitable for all ages! We do have special events for certain groups, however — see Toddler Days, After Hours and Home Educator days.
