Techniquest, Wales’ leading science discovery centre, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Welsh-speaking Visitor Experience — Outreach Presenter to join our Engagement Team.

Join us and inspire thousands of children, families and communities across Wales through unforgettable science experiences. From explosive live science demonstrations and immersive planetarium shows to taking Techniquest on Tour, this is your opportunity to make learning exciting while working for one of Wales’ most recognised visitor attractions.

Whether you’re presenting to a classroom of eager learners, entertaining families on our exhibition floor or delivering interactive workshops in communities across Wales, you’ll help bring science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) to life every day.

What the role involves

As one of the public faces of Techniquest, you’ll deliver engaging experiences both within our science discovery centre and through our outreach programme across Wales.

You’ll:

  • Deliver exciting science shows, workshops, planetarium sessions and demonstrations in both Welsh and English.
  • Take Techniquest on Tour, delivering inspiring outreach sessions in schools, community venues and partner organisations.
  • Plan, prepare, transport and maintain outreach equipment and safely drive Techniquest vehicles.
  • Create memorable visitor experiences through exhibition floor engagement, busking activities and excellent customer service.
  • Support admissions, retail and wider visitor operations when required.
  • Help develop new programmes and activities while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, safeguarding and visitor care.
  • Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for Techniquest both on-site and across Wales.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is fluent in Welsh and confident presenting in both Welsh and English.
  • Loves engaging with people of all ages and inspiring curiosity.
  • Has excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Enjoys delivering interactive workshops, demonstrations or educational activities.
  • Is organised, adaptable and able to work across multiple locations.

At Techniquest, you’ll join a passionate team committed to making science accessible, exciting and inspiring for everyone.

We offer:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • Sick pay scheme

  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Opportunities to develop your presenting and science communication skills
  • Discount at our on-site café
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Free on-site parking
  • Complimentary tickets to Techniquest and selected events

Why Join Techniquest?

No two days are the same.

One day you could be inspiring pupils in a Welsh classroom. The next, you’ll be delivering live science demonstrations to families, hosting a planetarium show or engaging visitors on our exhibition floor.

This is more than a presenting role — it’s an opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators while making a real difference in communities across Wales.
