To celebrate our 40th birthday, we’ve added 10 new hands-on exhibits and activities.
There are some new twists on old favourites: a shiny new Mirror Maze, back by popular demand, and a revamped version of our classic optical illusion, Head on a Plate.
Get your musical creativity flowing with our giant xylophones, an invisible harp, a looper where you can have a go at recording your own voice and beats, and more.

Create & Shape zone

In the new Create & Shape Zone, kids and big kids can explore their artistic side.
With various creativity stations featuring Spirographs, building bricks, origami, cardboard creations, K’NEX and more, they’ll get to try it all!
Take a seat, chill out and see what you can create together.

British Heart Foundation light sculpture
- Your Body zone, ground floor
- For all ages
Head to the Your Body zone to find a mesmerising sculpture that displays the internal beauty of our circulatory system.
Donated by the British Heart Foundation, this exhibit demonstrates the connection between the heart and circulation, and shows how blood flows around the body — demonstrating good heart health.

The Giant Piano

One of our all-time classic exhibits is back and better than ever!
We’ve given the much-loved Giant Piano a fresh coat of paint, and added some new interactive features.
You can now pick your favourite instrument and play along to your chosen tune.
