The Bath Bomb Lab

Make a splash in our lab with our colourful bath bomb workshop.

Learn all about the science behind bath bombs, including what makes them fizz, how different scents can affect our mood and why they look and smell sooo good.

We’ll investigate the ingredients, scents, and colours that go into creating these fizzy little wonders — and you’ll even get to make your very own bath bomb to take home with you!

• Minimum age requirement: 5+

  This activity is not suitable for children under 5. All children booked into the workshop must be accompanied by at least 1 paying adult. Children under 5 will not be admitted.

• Duration

  The workshop lasts for 45 minutes. Please allow an additional 45 minutes for your bath bomb to dry in the lab before you can take it home with you.

• Allergy warning

  This workshop involves the use of sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, witch hazel, fragrance/essential oils for scent and soap liquid for colouring. Some of these ingredients may contain allergens. Nitrile gloves (latex and powder free) will be available on request.

• Accessibility

  There is space for two wheelchairs. Our KLA Lab is an enclosed area, but you can leave if you’d like to. Sensory bags are available from the ticket desk (£20 refundable deposit, subject to availability).

• Tickets

  Every workshop ticket must be booked in conjunction with a valid admissions ticket. One ticket covers a workshop kit for 1 child and 1 accompanying adult. A ticket for a kit is required for each child taking part. Additional accompanying adults may be allowed into the space on the day, subject to capacity and at the discretion of the workshop leader.
